3. I'm Making Good Use Of My Time (Or, I've Got A Life Outside This Game)

When you play a game 2 or 3 times all the way through within the first week of its release, you can't help but start to question. When you start racking up 50+ hours on a game, you have to wonder. How could you possibly spend so much time on a game? It's even worse when you get to 100+ hours (thanks, Fallout). The worst part are those games that have little time tables for each individual thing you do (I'm looking at you, every Rockstar game I've ever played). It's interesting to know how much time you spend doing each little thing, but it's scary sometimes. When you learn that you spent 73 hours, 27 minutes, and 57 seconds shopping in Grand Theft Auto 4, you can't help but pray that it's a mistake. You spend so much time playing these games because you like them. You don't have to play video games; there are plenty of other things you can do, but you prefer video games. You do have a life outside of games, but you have to admit, sometimes you don't want to. Sometimes you want to stay playing that game forever.
