Poor Blizzard. What a rough few years it's been for you to end up on this list three times. But let's face it - you have hardly been on a winning streak lately.

Originally announced at BlizzCon 2018, WarCraft III: Reforged - a seeming total remake of the 2002 strategy classic - was met with thunderous cheer from fans. In addition to new graphics and gameplay tweaks, Blizzard also demoed remade cutscenes, featuring cinematic camera angles and robust animation.

The original WarCraft III was praised as much for its story as for its gameplay, but watching the drama play out from an isometric perspective was never ideal.

When Reforged released a full two years later in 2020, it was a whisper of what Blizzard advertised - essentially just a higher resolution and new character models.

Critics were hardly welcoming - granting it a paltry 59 Metacritic score - but consumers were even less forgiving. It was nothing close to what was shown at BlizzCon. Many felt it actually made the game look uglier, as they skinned more realistic textures over stylized, cartoonish models.

User reviews on Metacritic overwhelmingly declare it the death of Blizzard, garnering it a shocking 0.6 user score.
