However, one of his earliest and most beloved films comes in the form of the Evil Dead trilogy, a series of movies that translate surprisingly well to video games.

This game has no right to be as good as it is; if you’ve played Dead by Daylight or games similar to it, you already know how the formula goes. You and your teammates need to survive various Evil Dead scenarios while being hunted by a different player playing as the monsters.

Everything that makes Evil Dead great, the gore, the one-liners, the characters. The developers somehow captured the magic that made the movies so special and put them in a gameplay loop that’s both satisfying and challenging where necessary.

There are still a lot of rough edges that need ironing out, but for what it is, it’s enjoyable, especially with friends.
