10 Biggest Video Game Villains With The Smallest Screentime
5. Senator Armstrong - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Despite Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance being something of a niche spin-off from the main Metal Gear franchise, its primary villain Senator Armstrong is one of the series' most memorable - and quite literally huge, as in jacked - largely thanks to his meme-worthy invocation of the one-liner "Nanomachines, son."
Though Armstrong is mentioned numerous times throughout the game and glimpsed very briefly, he doesn't make a substantial appearance until the final chapter, where he's revealed as the ultimate antagonist and final boss.
Between Armstrong's hilariously over-the-top riffing during cutscenes and the ensuing, prolonged boss fight - much of which he admittedly spends inside a giant mech - Armstrong ends up having about 25-30 minutes of screen time, all of it back-loaded into the very end of the 7-8 hour campaign.
But Armstrong is such a ridiculous cartoon character of a villain and puts up such a tenacious fight against Raiden that he remains one of the most distinctive end bosses in the entire Metal Gear saga, which is really saying something.
