10 Board Games That Would Make For Great Video Games

8. Fury Of Dracula

The legend and arguably founding father of vampires in fiction that is Dracula has appeared in many video games over the years, even appearing in Overwatch as a skin. But the last game dedicated solely to the character was made back in 2013. It’s time the original vampire badass got another go.

Fury of Dracula sees hunters embark on a globe-hopping quest to the bring the blood-sucking count to justice. They utilize rumour and clever guess-work to close the distance, while Dracula fights back by employing assassin’s, saboteurs and even newly converted vampires to turn the hunters into the hunted.

With its traditional focus on puzzles and detective work, the adventure genre is a natural fit for this type of game, and indeed previous games have used the format. But by allowing Dracula to fight back, even defeat the hunters, Fury becomes something more confrontational, allowing for expansion into the third-person psychological horror genre, a kind of Transylvanian Silent Hill.

The premise of pursing an extraordinarily dangerous monster into the heart of his blood-drenched lair could go a long way to restoring the mystique – and terror – of a character, and a species, sadly oft treated as hedonistic, upper-crust aristocrats rather than the mortal perils they are.
