Activision sure has been having a great time resurrecting their beloved, classic platforming properties as of late.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a mammoth hit which led to the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy was also a critical and commercial success.

It's been almost two-and-a-half years since the Spyro remakes hit stores, and it's not unreasonable to consider that the series is going to get the Crash Bandicoot treatment with a direct sequel to the original trilogy receiving the greenlight.

Between their work on the Reignited Trilogy and Crash 4, developers Toys for Bob have proven themselves extremely capable caretakers of these iconic platformer franchises.

While it's possible Activision already has them at work on Crash 5, it might make more financial sense to get Spyro 4 off the ground first, and then alternate development between Crash and Spyro sequels until we're sick of them all again.

Hell, Toys for Bob even included a Spyro 4 Easter egg in Crash 4's artbook, so don't be shocked if Spyro 4 shows up at either an E3-adjacent Sony event or, failing that, Microsoft's showcase.
