When it comes to big EA games with less than stellar launches, the crown has to go Star Wars Battlefront II. While Anthem was bad, it was the shooter from DICE that actually managed to spark some debate amongst politicians whether or not loot boxes are considered gambling or not. While the loot boxes were one of the problems Battlefront II faced during its launch, there were many, many more.

The game also suffered from a broken progression system for instance. One that favoured those who’d spend money on microtransactions to progress. Mere days after the game launched the developers started making changes to the progression system after a user calculated it would take up to 40 hours to unlock one of the top-tier heroes in the game.

After this whole controversy DICE promised to make changes to the game and it seems like they’ve actually pulled it off. Thanks to a revamped progression system and a huge amount of free content being added post-launch in addition to patches to balance the game, Battlefront II has become a fantastic shooter. What was once a broken mess has turned into one hell of a Star Wars game.
