10 BRUTAL Video Games (Where You Don't Have To Kill Anybody)
2. Metal Gear Solid 4
The Metal Gear Solid series' emphasis on stealth and strategy has meant that players have always been able to mitigate the amount of bloodshed by making certain strategic choices in the game.
Clearly this is something that Kojima and co anticipated when developing the series. Right from the first game, the player will receive special acknowledgements for keeping fatalities to a minimum during their playthrough. This is made easier in the games following the franchise's freshman release with subsequent titles including weapons that incapacitate enemies without killing them.
However, 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4 takes the pacifism of the previous games to a whole new level by allowing players to complete the entire campaign without killing once.
Now, of course, this isn't something we'd recommend anyone but the most seasoned of MGS players attempting but it is possible to progress through the game, and even defeating all of the bosses without utilising any lethal methods.
