10 Cancelled Video Games You Wish You Could Play
1. Silent Hills
P.T. was a critically acclaimed demo and one of the biggest surprises it gave was the announcement of a new Silent Hill game. Entitled Silent Hills, it was intended to be a collaboration between famed developer Hideo Kojima and filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro. It even would have starred The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus as an added bonus.
Though no gameplay was ever shown, Silent Hills was made using Kojima Production's Fox Engine and would have been in the first-person perspective like P.T. This would have been a huge departure from the series as previous entries were in the third person.
If it was anything like the playable demo, the final game would have delved deep into the series' signature psychological horror while having an eerie atmosphere. Del Toro even stated that horror manga artist Junji Ito would have been involved while Gears of War's Cliff Bleszinski was invited to participate.
Hideo Kojima and Konami had an unfortunate falling out and Silent Hills became one of the biggest victims of their split.
Though Kojima, Del Toro, and Reedus reunited for Death Stranding, there hasn't been any announcement of a new Silent Hill since we lost 'the scariest game that never was.'
