4. The Black Eyed Peas - The Urbz: Sims In The City

Originally planned to be the first console version of The Sims but later replaced by the remake of the original, The Urbz: Sims in the City was released for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Gamecube, as well as having a handheld version for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS that actually had a different main story mode.

Following the formula of the other The Sims games, the player has to build up their in-game “Rep” to unlock bigger and better versions of jobs, apartments, items, activities, etc. However, EA intended for this spinoff type series to be something of the next-big-thing beyond the standard Sims type game, so decided to put some marketing oomph behind it.

That came in the form of The Black Eyed Peas, who provided original music for the game’s soundtrack (even recording the songs Shut Up and Let’s Get It Started in Simlish), along with group member will.i.am appearing as a character assisting the player in boosting their reputation in the city.

The whole group pops up in the game’s intro cinematic, helping the player perform a dance move to get into a club (a standard Saturday night out in L.A. I’m sure).
