10 Cheap Boss Fights That Made You Rage Quit

3. Samur Maykr - Doom Eternal (2020)

With its focus on faster combat, Doom Eternal was significantly harder than its predecessor. Fighting powerful demons like Marauders and Cyberdemons made getting through regular combat encounters challenging enough, but even these were mild compared to this title's boss fights.

Developers MachineGames would only escalate the brutality for The Ancient Gods - Part One, this game's first DLC. Featuring a formidable new enemy type and throwing wave after wave of tough foes at the Slayer, this expansion was intended for only the most seasoned of players.

Nowhere was this unrelenting difficulty felt more than with this expansion's final boss, Samur Maykr.

The developers didn't pull any punches here. The boss constantly teleports around the arena while bombarding players with projectiles that inflict massive damage. Meanwhile, players must also contend with an onslaught of extremely dangerous enemies.

Making this fight even harder is a laser grid that moves throughout the duration of the battle. This encounter proved to be so ruthless that several changes were made in a later patch to make it substantially easier.

While it may be a fairer fight now, Samur still poses a serious challenge to anyone willing to face him.
