10 Cheap Boss Fights That Made You Rage Quit
2. The Bed Of Chaos - Dark Souls (2011)
For as intimidating as facing a Dark Souls boss for the first time can be, the game's focus on slow and methodical combat means that players can overcome any challenge with the right amount of determination and perseverance. By taking their time to learn when best to dodge and attack, even the likes of Ornstein and Smough become completely manageable.
One boss that doesn't adhere to this design philosophy is The Bed of Chaos.
Found within Lost Izalith, players defeat this gargantuan, tree-like monstrosity by destroying its three weak points while the boss attacks with unpredictable sweeps and slams that are tricky to dodge.
The real nightmare of this fight begins when the first weak point is destroyed and the floor begins to collapse, meaning that getting caught by a single attack could send players falling to their deaths. If that wasn't annoying enough, players then need to perform a precise jump to reach the final weak point, a tremendously tricky feat in a game known for its poor platforming.
Throw in a long and tedious trip back to the arena, and The Bed of Chaos is easily one of the worst bosses FromSoftware have ever created.
