Of course, the biggest issue with buying a PS4 Pro right now is just how many other systems it has to compete with. Not only is it an incremental upgrade but it has to compete with the recently released Nintendo Switch as well as the fear that you could invest now only for a PS5 to be announced in a year or so.

Likewise the recently announced Xbox One X, while more expensive than the Pro, is much more powerful, able to run native 4K images that would ultimately give you the most bang for your buck if you do own an Ultra HD TV.

There's a lot of competition out there, and if you're already happy with your current system (it was heartbreaking to say goodbye to my launch day PS4), there's always going to be a twinge of regret opting for this incremental upgrade.
