Cosplay isn't solely about using props and foam to create a good look, makeup is also paramount in most cosplay, or the character isn't properly conveyed. There are a lot of people who do makeup and bodypainting remarkably well, but the one who does it the best without adding hardly anything is Kay Pike.

Pike doesn't go to cons in costume like the rest of the people on this list; she does all of her work in the comfort of her own home, and as far as anyone can tell, she does it to make people jealous!

Her skills with a brush are unmatched, but it's not just how she looks, it's also the manner in which she accomplishes her transformations—and they are transformations. She does her cosplay topless from the waist up, but there's no vulgarity here. Despite being voluptuous, she manages to contour her coloring in such a way as to completely mask her breasts, which enables her to become anyone.

She does all of the work herself, which means she spends hours in front of a mirror, painting her own body. She then poses in specific ways to become everyone from She-Hulk and Nebula to Iron Man or Thanos, and she completely disappears into her portrayal.
