10 Crucial Things The Nintendo Switch Must Do In Year One

5. Don't Force Mobile Features Or Games Onto The Switch

Okay, so this backtracks a little on the argument for unifying everything nicely in point 6, but I really do want to see mobile gaming features shoehorned into the console/portable gaming experience the Nintendo Switch looks set to provide.

Super Mario Run on iPhone? Great! My Nintendo as a way to earn discounts on the ‘main’ console eShop? Wonderful! But doing something feasible like locking off content for a potential Animal Crossing Switch and then forcing me to play X amount of hours on the mobile version before synchronising them together? No way, and no thanks.

It is a little short-sighted to assume mobile games will integrate into traditional console games, given than the Nintendo Switch announcement trailer screamed “Everything in one system”, but it may be something Nintendo are considering.

They have made no secret of the fact they wish to hook general mobile phone gamers into Nintendo games and apps before reeling them into core console experiences, but it needs to be done subtly and not at the expense of one game or the other.
