1. The Lord Of Frenzied Flame (Elden Ring)
It's no surprise to see Elden Ring on this list, given that all but every ending has horrible implications for The Lands Between. However, some are definitely worse than others, and while the Blessing of Despair certainly could have made the cut, the awful implications of the Fell Curse are a little too ambiguous to earn the top spot.
What's not so ambiguous, however, is watching as you set the entire world on fire. All hail the Frenzied Flame.
This red-hot climax requires some hoops to jump through, namely, rejecting the mission statement to become Elden Lord and aiming to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame instead. You can do this by meeting with the Three Fingers and inheriting the Frenzied Flame. Afterwards, you can spare Melina and burn the Erdtree yourself, eventually becoming the Lord of Chaos and using your fiery new title to douse the world in flame, burning everything down.
If Melina is still alive, she declares that she will bring Destined Death upon you. Getting a character who has always shown you kindness to want to throttle you is a clear indicator of how off the deep end this explosive conclusion is.
