10 Deeply Disturbing Tales Of HAUNTED Video Games

2. The Screaming Assassin - The Elder Scrolls III

 The Elder Scrolls Iii Morrowind
Bethesda

This urban legend is about a mod in The Elder Scrolls III named Jvk1166z.esp (catchy right), which most people just put down as a glitch. Those that tried to open it would swiftly be booted back to their desktop, but those that persevered were thrust into a terrifying world. The first thing they noticed was that all the NPCs were dead and had blood coming out of their eyes. Another thing they noticed was that they were continuously losing health, because a creature known as The Assassin would constantly pick away at them if they stood still.

The story goes that, at night time, the NPCs would come alive - but instead of interacting, they would simply all say "Watch the sky." Instead of a low resolution image, the sky resembled a real night sky and actually moved. Deep within the Citadel, the players found a dungeon. The closer they got, the louder a distinct tapping noise grew. Once the player reached the door, The Assassin would appear and start screaming. In a state of shock, the players turned their computer off, but the screaming just wouldn't stop. After what felt like forever, the voice simply said "Watch the sky."
