10 Delayed Video Games You Can Finally Play In 2016
4. Homefront: The Revolution
'The game that killed THQ', Homefront's sequel isn't necessarily the most sought after project of the year - but that doesn't mean some sort of phoenix can't rise from the ashes, right? Playing considerably well across all hands-on footage, it's going to be way too easy to dismiss this as 'just another shooter' come May when it's rumoured to finally come out. Attempts to differentiate include a more open-world design to combat that lets you lay in wait for ambushes or take targets out from afar, alongside an awesome setup involving a Korean invasion of the US. Developers Dambuster are out to reestablish the potential of the franchise, and considering how Battlefield and Call of Duty are getting way too long in the tooth at this point, it could be the perfect time to strike. A choice quote that exemplifies the studio's passion came from lead designer CJ Kershner speaking to Gamespot: "Anything that you remember or know about the first game: forget it now. It's not a continuation of that story or that style of gameplay. There's a reason we don't call it Homefront 2." Very strong words, and some I'm hoping hold true when it's on shelves.
