10 DESPISED Video Games You Should Play Now
2. No Man's Sky
Very few times in recent memory has a game's trailer induced so much hype, and the final product slapped all that hype right in the face.
We will likely never know for sure what Hello Games' sci-fi open universe sim, No Man's Sky, would have looked like if their entire office hadn't flooded shortly after the game was shown off at E3, but the game that was released was a shadow of what was promised. An empty universe, bereft of anything to actually do, or anyone to interact with, and randomly generated worlds that got samey very quickly.
However, if that is the No Man's Sky you remember, then you remember a vastly different beast from what is now sitting on shelves.
After years of heavy patching to put in what they planned from the start, No Man's Sky has finally achieved the status of "Minecraft. In. SPAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!" Which frankly, I'm shocked wasn't a thing sooner. the gameplay is more interesting, there's more to do, base building mechanics so you can tell the whole "go to the center of the galaxy" thing to get bent, and overall No Man's Sky is now everything we thought it would be years ago.
