10 Disappointing Video Games That Never Lived Up To The Hype

7. Fallout 76

GTA definitive edition
Bethesda

Released in 2018, Fallout 76 was announced as a hugely ambitious game which built upon the success of the gameplay of the previous entries but added the element of it being an online multiplayer game, similar to that of the likes of Grand Theft Auto Online.

Like the other entries on this list involving multiplayer elements, the game was massively unfinished at launch, with numerous connectivity and server issues. When reviewers and fans were actually able to play, although it looked like a Fallout game, 76 turned out to be a dull and uninspired experience which was only made worse by the numerous technical faults.

Several reviewers were so unenthusiastic, giving up partway through due to monotonous gameplay and technical issues. In response to the game's unfinished state, several reviewers ironically published unfinished reviews of Fallout 76.

Bethesda in response issued a patch update which at 50GB was nearly bigger than the game itself. This update then hilariously added even more bugs in some cases to this disaster of a game.
