10 Disturbing Video Games You Can NEVER Play Alone

5. SOMA

Siren Blood Curse
Frictional Games

A science fiction survival game that sees you try and find your way through an underwater research facility, SOMA is a psychological horror that relies on a terrifying environment rather than making you jump out of your skin.

Frictional Games, the company that developed the two Amnesia titles that have scared people sh*tless in the years since their release, unveiled this title in 2015 - receiving an ocean of praise for their commitment to a distinguished, scary setting populated by genuinely horrific creatures.

The general premise of SOMA is frightening enough on its own, chucking a metal shack at the bottom of the ocean that's oppressed by fears of drowning and darkness, but to then throw alien life forms and robotic clones on top pretty much seals the deal.

Trying to work through identity as a concept by facing machines with human memories is enough to give anyone a crisis, so better you bring a friend along for the ride to share the burden fairly.
