10 Divisive Video Games That Are Secretly The Best Entry
7. Fallout: New Vegas

Obsidian have always been a stellar RPG developer, but even they couldn't turn around a full Fallout game in the painfully restrictive 18 month dev window they were given by Bethesda. The result was one of the most legendarily broken games of all time, but thankfully for those who could look past the rotating heads, there was a game with so many incredible ideas.
Thanks to handfuls of patches smoothing things over, New Vegas gets to shine even brighter. The way Obsidian designs RPGs just plays more directly into what the genre stands for: Role-playing.
Off the bat we have a character with history in the world, a number of factions to befriend and pit against one another, far more in-depth dialogue options, fail-able missions that change what happens next, a way more driven story and choices that directly impact your options for the rest of the game.
You can argue it out in the comments as to whether this beats Fallout 3 or the originals, but for me, it's not even close.
