10 Divisive Video Games You Either Love Or Hate
5. The Division
The Division, like Destiny, was met with a lot of critical responses and a lot of them mirrored the ones that Destiny got. The story was weak, the gameplay was a little rocky, the areas were detailed yet not really outstanding and the shooting mechanics worked in bizarre ways requiring hundreds of headshots to down a human enemy that was a few levels higher than you. It was a little off-putting.
But much the same as Destiny, the game got a lot of fans who loved the gameplay and sank hundreds of hours into the online portion of the game, doing everything they could to get higher level gear. For a lot of people, the gameplay was enough to sell them on the game.
Unlike Destiny though, the game never really managed to draw many people back in after time and had to rely on its hardcore fans as general gamers passed it off as a mediocre shooter that had you collecting different coloured puffer jackets.
