Ratchet and Clank have been the most prevailing Playstation mascots the console has ever had and has had its fair share of divisive titles. Whilst the original trilogy are held in high regard and are almost universally loved, nearly every other game has split the crowd. But none more than Ratchet: Deadlocked.
A lot of people had criticisms about the game, namely the fact that the famous duo of Ratchet and Clank was stripped down to a solo adventure. Whilst Clank was in the background, he was never on the same level as Ratchet as he was in previous titles. Combine that with somewhat repetitive missions, limited weapon variety and god awful Landstalker missions and you had a lot of disappointed fans.
But a lot of fans took the game for what it was and instead of heralding it as the next great Ratchet and Clank game, instead found what was enjoyable with what was there. The environments were expansive, the weapons were highly customisable mitigating their limited number and there were only a few god awful Landstalker missions. (They were horrible no matter which side you took.)
