10 Dumbest Ways We've All Died In Video Games

4. Messing With The Wrong NPC - South Park: The Fractured But Whole

“I like shorts”, says the impish NPC. “They’re comfy, and they’re easy to wear!”

Wise words indeed, and truly thought-provoking. But, not all NPCs can be so profound, and normally, we have to suffer through their sheer idiocy as they stumble through our adventures with us, barely coherent, mumbling the same four phrases over and over as they block yet another doorway.

So, you can be forgiven for wanting to Fus Ro Dah those little cretins over the horizon in a cathartic release of pent-up rage, right? Even if they’re invincible, giving them a couple of uppercuts feels so good.

Well, up until you ka-chow the wrong non-playable character and unleash the beast within.

In South Park: The Fractured But Whole, this NPC is Morgan Freeman, an almighty force which will require the player’s team to be pretty beefy in order to stand a chance. Underestimate this restaurateur at your own risk - instead of the benevolent, silky-voiced gentleman we all know and love, Morgan will attack relentlessly with everything from his fists to burrito-powered flatulence.

The moral of the story? No, not “don’t start a fight for no reason”, it’s “only start fights against weaker or more stupid individuals”, of course.
