10 E3 Moments That Became Internet Memes

7. E3 Microsoft 2007 - Peter Moore Plays Rock Band

As mentioned, there's no messing with Peter Moore's reputation. He's like the Microsoft version of Reggie Fils-Aimé - except he started at Microsoft way before the Regginator in 2003.

Following a stint at SEGA that saw him rise to President and Chief Operating Officer and, sadly, oversee the demise of the Dreamcast, (bringing with it the start of SEGA as a multiplatform software publisher), Moore has also been at EA and is currently transitioning to Liverpool Football Club.

This awkward E3 moment came with the demonstration of Rock Band. Talk about putting the band back together - it was more like watching a band that'd never make it through the audition rounds of a TV talent show. Maybe it was because Moore had spent more time playing the rather excellent conversion of Guitar Hero II with the Xplorer guitar by that point, but it was rather unrehearsed.

Moore wasn't really the ideal man to demo Rock Band, despite being a great game executive in many peoples' eyes.

Bryan Langley’s first console was the Super Nintendo and he hasn’t stopped using his opposable thumbs since. He is based in Bristol, UK and is still searchin' for them glory days he never had.
