10 E3 Moments That Became Internet Memes
8. E3 Microsoft 2006 - Peter Moore's Tattoo Reveal
First came Halo 2. Later came GTA IV. Peter Moore was seemingly unafraid to get himself inked up, despite everyone believing the tattoos were fakes.
This was big news at the time (2006) as Grand Theft Auto had previously been strongly associated with PlayStation - especially the million-selling GTA III, which took two years to come to the original Xbox after debuting on PlayStation 2 in October 2001.
Maybe this one's less of a meme and more of a notable "Huh!" moment in E3 history, Peter Moore's willingness to get inked up was parodied by Engadget who questioned whether he'd use his forehead as the location for his next ink job.
Moore is definitely unafraid to face the crowd with a knowing smile on his face and take actions to earn the respect of hardcore fans. His reputation has endured since the latter, bittersweet SEGA days and he's still admired by many.
