1. Presentation Counts For A Lot
Presentation is often overlooked in video games these days- t0 many games detriment. Essentially presentation analyses how well the game let's you interact with it. This includes such things as gameplay interfaces, how FMVs are woven into the game, extra options, controls, etc. This may seem like a bizarre thing to separate from things such as gameplay , but a game like Mass Effect had very good gameplay, but quite clunky presentation. Mass Effect 2, on the other hand, tweaked its gameplay slightly, but really went to work with its presentation and therefore came out with a much better product overall. Games with great presentation will be easy to pick up, be immersive and responsive and often not require much time to draw the player in. In other words, be the exact sort of games that someone who is just starting out playing video games would enjoy.
Conclusion
The fact is, that despite the 10 things I have listed above, females and gaming are becoming less and less seen as mutually exclusive things and therefore there may be a good chance that we will see more female characters in games- particularly playable protagonists and so hopefully this article seen for introducing everyone to the wonders that is the electronic game.
