10 Essential Dungeons And Dragons Video Games For Hardcore Fans

2. Neverwinter Nights

Paying homage back to the Gold Box games, Neverwinter Nights spawned from the Savage Frontier Forgotten Realms series, which in turn game about as one of the many spin-off series from Pool of Radiance. This was not only AOL’s first graphical MMORPG, but THE first graphical MMO in history. Though it’s sequel does not share it’s MMO status, and the first only ran for 6 years, this groundbreaking game is everything you want from a D&D experience.

The second has its own merits too, other than of course being actually playable the way it was intended unlike its predecessor. In fact, fans have said that it’s better in every single way. It’s more aesthetically pleasing, the UI is immensely improved, it runs much smoother and (having moved away from its MMO roots) the story is phenomenal. With each expansion adding more of The Forgotten Realms to explore and discover, this game is a true masterpiece and wins the silver medal for best D&D game on this list.
