10 Essential Dungeons And Dragons Video Games For Hardcore Fans

3. Planescape Torment

While Dungeons and Dragons video games generally like to stay safe with their settings and throw the same few at us time and time again – Waterdeep, Baldur’s gate, Barovia etc. – this game goes off the grid and is set in the less-well known campaign setting Planescape. Unlike some of the older D&D games, your main character in this one has full customizability. Much like in the Elder Scrolls games, he’s a completely blank slate, ready for you to choose everything about him from his class to his alignment. However, rather than just a ‘he’s good because I want him to be good’ logic, the game bases alignment on your actions, thus giving everything you do in the game lingering consequences from the get-go.

Planescape Torment has one of the most original and inspiring stories, with amazing graphics, music and side-quests to match. It was definitely a contender for the top spot when making this list, and the game has a great amount of replayability, turning up new things with each playthrough.
