10 Essential Fixes The PS4 Desperately Needs

4. Better UI In The PSN Store

Discovering free add-ons, demos or even full games on the Playstation Store has always been one of the console€™s under-appreciated joys since the days of the PS3. We all like to get something for nothing, especially in these days of premium content and €˜day one DLC€™

This little gem is still available for players on the PS4, though it can be a little frustrating to discover as with the PS3. The current home page and interface for the PSN store with the PS4€™s themes is lacking a certain sense of direction. The menus at the side are simple and self-explanatory enough, but navigating to find the things you want within these sub-menus can sometimes resort to just swiping through pages in blind hope.

There is, perhaps, something to be said for the random nature of finding things in the store this way. On the other, far more sensible hand, this is just not the case. The store on the PS3 was well laid out, easy to navigate and just simple enough to be perfect. The new UI for the PS4 may carry the same flashy exterior of the console€™s home pages, but the functionality just doesn€™t transfer well when the content isn€™t separated as clearly. It€™s definitely time to take that back to basics.
