The first few hours of Mass Effect Andromeda do not make a good impression. Taking its time before really letting you off your leash, you'll be spending the this time engaged in cutscenes, exploring the game's main hub world and being bombarded by people with an inflated sense of importance wanting you to help them with their problems.

It's a lot to take in at once and initially feels disjointed, but does all start to click once Andromeda opens up to become a much more rewarding experience. It's easy to become overwhelmed in these opening hours, so what you want to do is keep pushing forward with the main quest and ignore everything else until you activate the vault on the first major world, Eos.

You can always return to do the side-quests you've collected up until that point if you want, but after you activate this first planet you're given a much wider array of interesting things to do and places to explore, finally starting the game in earnest.
