10 Exact Moments Where Video Game Immersion Was Shattered

Look, we all saw this one coming, and for damn good reason. There is very little that throws you out of a sense of immersion quite like being asked for your credit card or bank details, especially in order to obtain something that isn't a necessary part of the game.

Not only does this take you out of the experience because you have to remember what's in your bank account, it also takes away much of the sense of achievement you usually get through getting good at a game. After all, getting rare skins, cards, or even achievements feels cheap when you know you could have just bought them in the first place.

Secondly, it's such a sketchy practice that it sort of makes you question whether you actually do want to keep playing the game, which is basically the most removed you can be from immersion.

Instead of wondering what cool thing you can do next, you're left trying to figure out if you can get through the game successfully without paying hard-earned real world cash, which sucks on several levels.
