10 Exciting 2018 Video Games Nobody Is Talking About
3. One Piece: World Seeker
It's understandable if anyone's still a little cautious about licensed games as they are by no means a guaranteed hit. After all, the world of anime can be difficult to adapt outside of its source material, as Hollywood has illustrated more than once. However, as Koei Tecmo's Attack on Titan game series has shown, there's potential for success. One Piece: World Seeker, the next attempt at bringing an anime into the world of gaming, looks to be another potential success.
Boasting a vibrant and stylized open world, World Seeker may not be the first One Piece title, but it is the first attempt at offering a truly adventurous experience with all the members of the Straw Hat crew. Players take control of the protagonist Luffy, who, with his Mr. Fantastic-like Gomu Gomu moves, utilizes a visually-fascinating fighting style that looks similar to the Arkham games, albeit with more stretchy arms.
Bandai Namco hopes to make the definitive One Piece video game with World Seeker, and if the story matches up to its visually-appealing art style and source material, World Seeker will be only the beginning of One Piece's presence in the gaming world.
One Piece: World Seeker releases in 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
