10 Exciting 2018 Video Games Nobody Is Talking About

2. Shadow Of The Tomb Raider

The Last Night
Crystal Dynamics

Considering the consistent financial and critical success of the rebooted Tomb Raider series, it's surprising how often each game gets overshadowed by some other project. Typically due to a crowded release slate, TR's releases end up much more quiet than they should be. With a big release coming out the same day and a AAA title coming a week prior, Shadow is at risk of another humbling release, and that just can't happen.

Building off of the great foundation of the previous installment Rise of the Tomb Raider, SotTR offers improvements in combat, an increase in stealth, and more tombs to solve than ever before. Story-wise, the game takes place after Rise and sees Lara going into Latin America looking for a Mayan relic that has some connection to her father. Upon coming into contact with the relic, Lara unintentionally begins a Mayan apocalypse, tasking her with the responsibility of saving the world once again.

For anyone who has already played the previous two titles, Shadow sounds like it'll be the best one yet. Those who have yet to jump on the wagon, do yourself a favor and give them a shot. The previous titles are worth your time, and SotTR will surely be no different.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases September 14th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
