10 Extremely Expensive Upcoming Video Games (That Have Already Flopped)
6. Metro Exodus
For those who haven't played the Metro series, think of it as a dreary story-driven Fallout (minus the RPG elements) dripping with atmosphere. It's a greatly-underrated series that has never been as popular as it should be, and Metro Exodus would like to change that. Bolstering impressive visuals and survival elements that will test your limits, Exodus is certainly promising.
However, there's a big problem: the release date. That February 22nd release date absolutely needs to change if publisher Deep Silver wants the game to launch successfully. The Metro series has never really been a hot seller with gamers, so putting it against the highly-marketed Anthem is asking for trouble. Even Crackdown 3 may take away from Exodus's exposure, even though it'll have issues competing on its own (more on that later).
Similarly to Jump Force, Exodus will probably underperform at first, but will likely gain some footing over time. The game's sure to be another critical hit like the previous installments, but Deep Silver should prepare for low debut numbers come release day.
