Red Dead Redemption 2 has a ton of explorable areas, but aside from amazing sights and the occasional encounter with a stranger, these locations don’t really offer much in terms of tangible rewards.

The one rare exception being the locations of the trinkets.

The game secretly comes with a variety of talismans and trinkets that provide Arthur and John with useful perks when equipped. Because most are hidden throughout the map, they are pretty hard to find, and the most useful of them, the Cat Eye Trinket, is probably the most well-hidden out of them all.

The charm extends the duration of all fortifying tonics by 20%, making it perfect for maximizing your health and stamina regeneration, as well as giving you a considerable amount of Dead Eye charges.

The problem is that the Cat Eye is in a really distant and inconspicuous location, so most beginner players do not even know it exists.

To get the trinket, you have to swim to the southernmost island on Flat Iron Lake. The lockbox with the charm will be near the island’s shore, so be sure to look out for the right spot and get this useful perk as soon as you can!
