10 Flawless Video Game Villains Who Deserved To Win
2. Pagan Min - Far Cry 4
Having returned to his home country to scatter his mother's ashes, Far Cry 4 sees players take control of Ajay Ghale as he joins up with the revolutionary group known as The Golden Path as they attempt to wrestle back control of the country of Kyrat from antagonist Pagan Min.
Across the game, players have the choice of aligning themselves with two ideologically opposed Golden Path commanders: Amita or Sabal.
Depending on who the player picks, the country will either slip into a military prison state, or a backwards religious cult. Both outcomes will also end with the death of an innocent child, Bhadra, as well.
The game goes out of its way to show the grass isn't necessarily greener without Min, but even goes a couple steps further in explaining his grand scheme is far less malevolent than one might expect.
Both the easter egg ending and final cinematic with the character will reveal Min had planned to simply hand over power of the country to Ajay the whole time, and that all the death and destruction The Golden Path had started was, ultimately, a waste.
