10 Flawless Video Game Villains Who Deserved To Win
3. Haytham Kenway - Assassin's Creed III
The Assassin's Creed series usually presents the age-old squabble between the Assassins and Templars as a fairly straightforward feud between the good guys chasing freedom and liberty, and the villains seeking to manipulate and control. Haytham Kenway in Assassin's Creed III was the first Templar to truly question that formula.
In the game, Haytham is shown as being one of the major Templar players at work, seeking to control the American colonies. The revolutionary groups act as the flag-bearers for freedom that players get behind as his son Connor, however, Haytham is quick to point out that even individuals like George Washington have the blood of many a native indigenous group on their hands.
At the very least, Haytham's quips and straight-shooting logic raises some good points, ultimately given a serious injection of validity when it comes to Washington's involvement in Connor's village being burned.
