10 GameCube Games We Need To See On Nintendo Switch
2. Metroid Prime
In due course, we should be getting a remastered pack of the Prime games to go along with the much mooted Metroid Prime 4. But the development of that much anticipated title is shrouded in mystery, and word of these remasters is hard to find. It would be the easiest money Nintendo ever made, and yet - nothing.
As such, we must insist that, in the form of a port if nothing else, Metroid Prime makes its way to the Switch. The hype around 2D Metroid Dread proves that this franchise has plenty of fans clamouring for more, and nothing could whet their collective appetite like dropping Prime online.
The 3D shooter is an undisputed classic, a game of rare pedigree. Its stark graphics still look pretty great, its tension still does the business. It’s as fun an FPS as Nintendo have ever put their might behind.
Most importantly, fans still absolutely worship the game. For Nintendo Online, this classic from the vaults could be a genuine unit shifter. Naturally we’d like the remaster, and most of all the new game. But getting to play this again without having to hook up the GameCube would be such a joy.
