10 Games Hidden In Other Games

Each game on this list deserves to be treated as a separate title, but only one of them has actually managed to go from being a simple easter egg to becoming a fully-fledged franchise.

In other words, it's time to talk about Geometry Wars.

Originally an easter egg inside Project Gotham Racing 2, Geometry Wars was a hidden mini-game that the player could access from their personal garage. By entering garage mode and then walking to the back of the room, you could find an arcade machine that booted up a fully playable game of Geometry Wars.

The title was a bullet hell shooter in which you controlled a tiny spaceship, and your goal was to destroy as many incoming shapes as you could before they destroyed you.

Although it was just a hidden arcade machine inside a racing game, Geometry Wars turned out to be surprisingly addictive. So much so that eventually, the developer, Bizarre Creations, decided to turn it into a separate franchise, which is why we now live in the timeline where there is a series of eight Geometry Wars titles with a passionate and dedicated fanbase.
