10 Gaming Franchises That Desperately NEED A New Game

Captain Falcon is a widely recognized gaming icon due to his longtime prominent role in the Smash Bros series, but the series he actually originates from is nowhere to be seen. F-Zero has been defunct since F-Zero Climax, a Japan-exclusive release, in 2004. With how important Captain Falcon has become, he deserves better than this.

F-Zero is an incredibly high speed racing game, and one of the most common criticisms of early games in the series was that the hardware simply couldn't keep up. This would no longer be a problem in the current generation of consoles, as shown by some of the genuinely jaw-dropping games that have managed to work on the Switch. A prime example of this is Fast RMX, a Switch launch title that was highly inspired by F-Zero and boasted some seriously exhilarating maximum speeds.

Fast RMX, however, didn't have the unique aesthetic and cast of characters that made F-Zero so special. More than anything, it's proof that F-Zero could not only work on Switch, but end up being amazing as well. It could look beautiful on the Switch's vibrant, crisp display.
