8. Metroid
If any game is going to be a match made in heaven for the Wii U, it's going to be Metroid. The original games are still rated as some of the best ever and while Nintendo have veered away from the series roots in recent years, a new Metroid could be a system seller for them. Nintendo need a top class exclusive shooter to compete with Killzone and Halo so why not Metroid? While most fans have been requesting a deeper, darker game, a Wii U sequel to Metroid Prime: Hunters (which was one of the best online games on the DS) could be excellent. A developer such as Retro Studios would thrive on creating such a game. Call of Duty and Battlefield offer the same experiences, Metroid could be unique in its controls and setting. It wouldn't have to be an all out brainless shooter, it could be team based, with different characters having different abilities. A stand-alone adventure sequel would be great too but Metorid Wii U could be the best FPS on a Nintendo console since Goldeneye.
