10 Great Games with TERRIBLE DLC

7. Kingdom Hearts III

Resident Evil Village DLC

Kingdom Hearts III had high expectations, considering it was the long-awaited conclusion to the Dark Seeker saga, which had been building since the original. As such, fans were hyped, especially since the Re:Mind DLC was intended to tie up everything, particularly around Sora’s fate and the Keyblade War.

Unfortunately, it's hard to think of an aspect which the DLC doesn't fail in. Re:Mind relies on cutscenes that rehash events from the main game, so it feels like it's retreading familiar ground rather than offering anything new.

New plot-threads are introduced, such as the Chamber of Repose, but are too convoluted to be satisfying. Such sub-plots have no direct connection with the game or the trilogy's plot, so they feel tacked on. The antagonists lack personality or backstory, so they're rarely compelling.

The battles themselves aren't enjoyable since the preposterous difficulty spikes encourage grind-heavy gameplay, which is sure to alienate casual players. Sora gets several different forms and attacks, but they feel like extensions from pre-existing mechanics.

Re:Mind is such a hodgepodge of unfinished ideas, it probably didn't need to be released at all.
