10 Great Games with TERRIBLE DLC

8. Street Fighter X Tekken

Resident Evil Village DLC
Capcom

With Street Fighter and Tekken being among the most celebrated fighting franchises, it seemed inevitable the Capcom and Namco IPs would crossover. Sure enough, Street Fighter X Tekken hit shelves in 2012, much to the joy of both fan parties. The tag-team extravaganza offered a vast roster, gorgeous visuals, and a balance of both brands' mechanics, while still being accessible to newbies.

Several months later, a DLC was made available, adding 12 characters to the roster, six from the Street Fighter series and six from the Tekken series. Although players had to pay for this, it didn't seem unreasonable on the surface.

But it ended up creating one of the biggest controversies in either property's history. Firstly, certain characters were initially planned to be unlockable through gameplay but were made DLC exclusive purely to maximise profits.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Through data-mining, it was unearthed the additional fighters were already on the disc but were deliberately rendered inaccessible. Unsurprisingly, gamers thought it was ludicrous how they needed to pay for content that was available on the disc from Day One.
