10 Great Video Game Reboots (That Failed Anyway)

4. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst

The 2000s were a lawless time, a time where - for some unknowable reason - absolutely everybody was obsessed with parkour. Of course games latched onto this and almost every one released simply had to feature it in some way or another.

The original Mirror's Edge stands at the peak of the parkour genre, holding up even to this day as a classic that it's hard not to love.

So when the long-awaited follow up released but rebooted the series in a now semi-open world environment, pretty much nobody cared. It may have been to do with the eight-year gap between games, or it might have been that - just like skateboarding before it - parkour just stopped being cool.

Whatever happened it is a shame because while Catalyst didn't exactly reinvent the wheel when it came to clambering up buildings, it was still a satisfying experience. The ability to run across a beautifully oppressive future rooftop skyline was as invigorating as ever and the game encouraged players to do so at their leisure.

Regardless the poor sales and limited exposure means Faith probably wont be running across our screens again any time soon.
