10 Great Video Game Villains Who Were Totally Wasted

6. Lord Lucien Fairfax - Fable II

Fable 2 Lucien
Lionhead

Fable II quickly establishes Lord Lucien Fairfax as a fierce villain, given that he kills the player character's older sister Rose and sets off on a maniacal, grief-stricken ploy to destroy the world using an ancient structure called The Spire.

He's certainly no dimestore rent-a-thug, then, yet for as swiftly as the game makes the player loathe Lucien, it all falls apart in the final stretch when it comes to confronting the guy.

The ensuring boss fight, which can't even really be called that, simply amounts to Lucien nattering on for far too long while you're prompted to pull out a gun and kill him with a single button press.

Hell, you can get even lazier than that by just pressing nothing at all, at which point your pal Reaver will pull out his own gun to grease Lucien.

All in all, it's a shockingly deflating end for a villain who, despite his insanity, actually seemed pretty smart, calculating, and ruthless.
