Ever since The Adventure of Link forced me to face a shadow version of Zelda's hero Link, I've always had a fascination with boss fights that make players duel with an altered version of themselves. Finding a way to take down a foe that exhibits all of the capabilities and skills that you've used to reach them is a brilliant way to make the player feel truly helpless.

In its own way, this battle with Gehram is a variation on that classic concept. His moveset may not perfectly mimic your own, but his fighting style contains many of the tactics that you have used up until this point to survive. Because of this, the fight resembles a particularly difficult PvP encounter that will force you to up your own game on the spot or die trying.
