10 Greatest Games Consoles You Never Played

9. 3DO Interactive Multiplayer

Developer: The 3DO Company Release: 1993 Best Game: Alone in the Dark The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer looked like it was going to be a massive success shortly before release. Named by Times magazine as the '1994 Product of the Year' and featuring technology that was pretty cutting edge for its time, the 3DO started out strong. In particular, the 3DO was capable of playing impressive ports of a variety of PC and arcade games, such as Alone in the Dark, Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Myst. Many of these ports are still considered to be the best of their kind, thanks to the typically high quality audio and graphics. The price was just too high for most gamers though, and the 3DO only sold around 2 million units worldwide.
