10 Greatest Heels In Video Game History

4. Sephiroth - Final Fantasy VII

No villain on this list has wrung more tears from players' eyes than Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth - the man behind the single most iconic death scene in gaming history, and for the sake of spoilers in light of the ongoing remake project, we'll leave that there.

Sephiroth's mastery of a blade is one thing, but he's basically the platonic ideal of a stoic badass. He doesn't speak all that often, and when he does it's typically in an eerily calm, measured tone.

Couple this with his immaculate dress sense and gorgeously styled hair that must seriously take hours every morning, and in the superficial stakes Sephy has it all.

But what further elevates him is his tragic backstory, his iconic theme tune "One-Winged Angel," and the sheer number of diabolical acts he commits throughout the game.

As a piece of storytelling Final Fantasy VII may be wildly convoluted, but there's nothing unclear or ambiguous about Sephiroth being the Triple H of video game villains.
